Car-X consistently exceeds expectations and my fiance & I always feel as though we're being treated fairly. My car was recently repaired there and John explained things very clearly and did exactly what he said he'd do. I'd recommend Car-X to others who want a good value for their money and don't want to feel like they're getting screwed.
Good service up at Car-X. Had my rotors and brake pads replaced there a while back. My vehicle was shaking when braking and they replace the warped rotors under warranty. Very nice!
One of the best places to bring your car hands down!!! I was literally looking for a place to get an oil change for 4 hours called car x and got right in. Not being over charged is an extra plus and the service is fast. John always answers the phone with so much joy he literally made my day after having a horrible one. CarX is the place to be!!! John at this location is absolutely amazing and has become my go-to for all things car related. I have been going to this location for five or six years now and receive exceptional service at a fair price EVERY TIME.This is a very honest shop that doesn't trump up charges and will explain things in a way that a non-mechanic can understand. Very patient and knowledgeable people. Services were also quick and reasonable. Additionally I asked for some diagnosis on my dashboard lights, and after a quick look, they found the issue. Since it wasn't hard or didn't take any time, they offered not to charge me anything from it.I waited in the lobby while I had my tires worked on, and they kept me up-to-date, informed, asked, verified anything needed. It is always annoying and pressuring to fix a costly vehicle, but Car-X made me feel great going there.I was struggling on instructions/car terms, but they were very patient. They were also very understandable if I put off unwanted services, and they weren't pressuring or shy to talk to, so this is also a great place to recommend new customers.
One of those speedy oilchanges places caused a tube to break off and get sucked into my gearshaft.Had my car brought here and it got fixed fast. It could have been a lot worse, but the knowledge and ability here is top notch. That and found out the oil-change costs there are cheaper!Highly recommend!

Went to get my brakes replaced. They were awesome! Was able to get it done same day and the price was so reasonable! The lowest we found! Firestone quoted us $1200 and told us front and back brakes needed to be done. The CarX tech advised otherwise, turns out that was a lie from firestone, the front breaks were like new! The guys here at CarX were very honest. Definitely reccomend this place!
I came in for a simple headlight replacement with just a short notice, drop-in situation. They did not disappoint. Very nice, courteous people. Got me lit up again. Great for urgent needs and probably everything else.
John is awesome! He always takes care of me when I go in. He does not hide around the bushes and tells me exactly what needs to be fixed and if its worth fixing. He never tries to sell me anything, just takes care of what is needed.

I blew a tire on WB Ave and limped to the business here. I went to go change my tire but found my lug wrench didnât fit the key to my locking lug nuts. The very nice folks here let me use a socket set to get that locking lug nut off. THANK YOU!!

I was hesitant to use the national name of car x, but John is very informative, not pushy, doesn't 'over repair', but discusses options and goes out of his way to make sure we are satisfied. We have only had good experiences with several of our vehicles so far.

John and his team continue to provide excellent customer service in a most timely and respectful manner. Most recently they went out of their way to secure and install a very hard-to-find replacement part for my lovely 2002 Subaru Forester. Made me a most happy camper.Their service level in this instance was similar to what they did this past winter when my car's front end was making weird sounds following travel in deep snow. They put it up on the lift and determined compacted snow was the problem they quickly resolved...what a relief. Recommend them highly.
Seriously this place rocked and I would refer anyone with car problems to John. Got a quote for $390 on parts and labor, brought car in, was done in two hours, paid $340! This was so awesome compared to the crappy service I got last week from Midas and quote for $950 for parts and labor (on top of having to leave my car overnight in their tiny lot for a total of 21 hours to get an inspection and oil change done).
I don't know what these are guys are getting paid, but whatever it is, it is not enough. John and his guys run an excellent shop! Normally affordable and done right do not end up in the same sentence when it comes to repair shops. Not the case with CarX of St. Paul. John and his staff get done right, at an affordable cost and they get it done quick. I would not dream of bringing my vehicles anywhere else!
